UKSG’s annual conference in Brighton has been cancelled
following the escalation of COVID-19 Coronavirus across the world.
In recent days it has become increasingly clear that, despite the advice from the government scientists, to continue as planned would potentially put the health and wellbeing of our members at risk and so we decided to go ahead and cancel the conference.
UKSG regrets the inconvenience caused to all our membership community, be they delegates, speakers or sponsors. We have started getting in touch with all participants to discuss refunds this week. This is obviously going to take some time to sort through, and we are grateful for your patience in the meantime. We would be grateful if you would hold off contacting individual members of staff at this time concerning your particular refund.
UKSG is a charity which relies on the annual conference to fund all of our other activity, but we have all been touched by the outpouring of support from our wonderful members and are working closely with our suppliers to mitigate against this decision. We will keep you informed as to next steps.
The 2020 Annual General Meeting of UKSG has been postponed but new dates for a virtual meeting will be circulated shortly. Please continue to vote for committee members though! All representatives who are authorised to vote will have received an email with the link to the secure voting.
