The ‘UKSG Events’ app is available in the Apple App Store, Google Play Store or online.

The free app has been designed to help delegates plan and optimise their attendance at UKSG events. The app includes information on:
- sessions and speakers
- delegates
- sponsors and exhibitors
- practicalities

A short guide to the Features of the 'UKSG Events' App is available here as a PDF.

Other PDF guides include:

Downloading the app

All delegates, including speakers and exhibitors, receive an e-mail from 'UKSG Events app' inviting them to download the app, verify and log in. We recommend following the instructions in that e-mail to access the app.

Speakers and organisation admins receive a further notification inviting them to edit their speaker or organisation profile.

Annual Conference Delegates

What’s in it for delegates?

UKSG's mission is to "connect the information community and encourage the exchange of ideas on scholarly communication". Through the app, you will be able to contact and message other delegates and even set up appointments. Why not catch up over a coffee or meet for a drink at the end of the day? There will be plenty to discuss!

  • Navigate your way through the programme, bookmarking speakers and sessions you don’t want to miss.
  • Manage your time by identifying the exhibitors you’d like to visit and locate them on the map.
  • Create a personalised schedule complete with alerts; your own message board and contacts list; and your own notes which you can access after the event.
  • Receive any last-minute changes or special announcements straight to the app.

Speakers and exhibitors

Of course, we hope that speakers and exhibitors will also benefit from inclusion in the app. The app should raise the profile of speakers and organisations and enable delegates to make their way easily to sessions and stands and access additional materials and offers made available through the app.

Speakers and organisation admins receive a notification inviting them to edit their speaker or organisation profile.

Read the guide to Using the VIP Admin Center.

I can’t attend – is there anything in it for me?

Definitely! You will be able to follow the sessions and speakers, receive notifications and announcements and share the social media buzz. Why not keep the online version open while you work?

How do I get it?

To download the free app on a mobile device, search for ‘UKSG Events’ in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Alternatively, for those using a Blackberry, desktop or mobile browser, view the online version here.

How do I use it?

Please read our short guide to the Features of the 'UKSG Events' App.

The app performs optimally whether or not there’s an Internet connection. When connected, the app downloads updates (such as new social media content). Once downloaded, all of the data is stored locally on the device so it’s accessible even if there’s no Wi-Fi.

We only include your name and organisation on the delegate list and it is straightforward to show/hide yourself on the delegate list. All profiles are automatically set to ‘Private’ initially. Only you can access your profile/account settings.

Read more about managing your privacy.

Read UKSG's Privacy and Data Protection policy.

T&Cs and Permissions

Survey and feedback

Included in the app is an ‘App Survey’. We would be grateful if all users would complete this as real improvements can only be made in response to your comments and suggestions. Alternatively, please feel free to e-mail your comments to Bev Acreman.

At events, please ask at the Registration Desk.

Alternatively, please e-mail Brian Lewis or contact CrowdCompass

Finally, please share the news with colleagues and friends and don’t wait for the big day! Download the app before leaving for your event and start engaging with the features and content.

"Best conference app I've used so far!"

"I like that UKSG are reusing the same app for different events. Shows commitment to the concept... Seriously impressed."

"If you're running a large event then you can't do without this app. There's no need for extra information, put it in the app."

"I think the app is a great addition."

Annual Conference Delegates

Background to the app

The app has been developed in response to popular demand and in recognition of the increasingly ‘mobile’ environment in which we live and work. Apps have revolutionised what we can do ‘on the go’ and events are no exception. The app was soft launched’ at the UKSG Forum 2014 as a trial ahead of full launch at the UKSG 38th Annual Conference and Exhibition in Glasgow. It is now only available for the Annual Conference and Exhibition, UKSG's flagship event which takes place over three days.
