Education and Events

UKSG offers a wide range of events focusing on the challenges and issues relating to members and the wider knowledge community. Events and training are offered at different levels and form a varied and affordable programme of seminars, webinars, courses and workshops.

UKSG Education and Events Subcommittee

The Education and Events Subcommittee develops and organises events and training to support professional development within the scholarly information community. Suggestions for topics and speakers are always welcome.

Meet the Education and Events Subcommittee.

An occasional Training Needs Survey seeks to identify the needs and challenges faced by the knowledge community and is invaluable when updating courses and deciding which new courses to offer. Events and training form a dynamic programme and some delegates choose to attend certain courses more than once to remain up-to-date.

One-Day Conference

The One-Day Conference is intended to complement the Annual Conference by providing a more intimate opportunity for strategic discussion among members of the knowledge community.

Webinars

UKSG offers a range of free webinars which support international members and attract professionals with diverse experience from a wide range of organisations.

Training Needs Surveys consistently show that UKSG webinars are attractive and considered helpful and cost-effective to members overseas as well as in the UK.

With around 25% of members based outside the UK, it’s important to ensure UKSG also meets their training needs. As well as removing travel costs, registrants can listen to the webinars live or watch the recordings at a time that best suits them.
