UKSG Trustees are a vital force in ensuring the effective and efficient governance of UKSG making sure the board of trustees reaches sound decisions. We are starting the 2024 election process now for places on our board.
You can read about the role of a UKSG Trustee here (including time commitments) and check out our current board here. All Trustees get a free place at our events, including the annual conference.
You do not need previous experience as a Trustee or board member – full support will be provided throughout your three year term.
We have two “ordinary” places up for election plus the position of Vice Chair. For the first time this year we're introducing designated categories for Trustees. This means that where a particular group isn't represented on the Board one of the spots in the upcoming election will be reserved for that group. We are looking to fill one of the ordinary places with a publisher or aggregator. The second place is free to anyone to stand. Anyone can stand for the position of Vice Chair.
All candidates must be from a member institution – you can check that here: https://www.uksg.org/members
If you would like to discuss whether you should stand or need further information, please don’t hesitate to contact me in confidence – bev@uksg.org or on +44 (0) 1993 848235.
To stand for election please follow the instructions here: https://bit.ly/42iPCYQ
The deadline is Friday 23rd February 2024 and the results will be announced at our AGM on the 20th March 2024 (online).
