Ex Libris®, a ProQuest company, has announced that Switzerland’s Kantonsbibliothek Graubünden (Cantonal Library Graubünden) has selected the Ex Libris Alma® library services platform and Primo® discovery and delivery solution. Serving 21 member libraries, the Cantonal Library Graubünden network will benefit from the efficiency of integrated workflows and the ability to offer remote access to library patrons across the canton, particularly important in today’s challenging times.
"The Alma platform and Primo discovery solution will help us become more efficient in managing and delivering print and electronic resources for our libraries,” said Petronella Däscher, Head of Cantonal Library Graubünden. “Integrating Alma and Primo will give us a unified system and offer significant improvements over our current system. Remote access to our e-resources and digitized media are more important than in the past."
Università degli Studi di Bergamo Selects the Ex Libris Leganto Course Reading List Solution
The Università degli Studi di Bergamo (University of Bergamo) has selected the Ex Libris Leganto® course reading list solution.
Library Director Ennio Ferrante said, “The current process through which students are informed of the resources that are mandatory for their coursework, as well as the process by which libraries acquire the information necessary to update their collections of teaching materials, are time-consuming and inefficient. With Leganto, we can ensure that our collections meet our students’ needs and better support student success.”
Rice University’s library anticipates that during the 2020-2021 academic year, the use of printed course reserves will not be feasible because of the necessary shift to online learning. Instead, Rice library staff and faculty members will collaborate using the Leganto solution, discovering electronic resources and making them available through the university’s Canvas learning management platform. The university aims to maximize the use of the resources to which it subscribes and, when acquiring new electronic assets, to seek open-access (OA) content and open educational resources (OER).

“In the current and future academic environment, it is a tremendous advantage to have a holistic solution for creating lists of course-assigned materials that integrate with both our library system and the learning management system,” said Rice University’s Director of Library Technology Denis Galvin. “The Leganto solution will put everything into one place, enabling our faculty and students to benefit from seamless access to course resources and increasing the library's impact on student success.”
