In 2018 ProQuest shared its survey findings on the broadening scope of content researchers depend on. In 2019 ProQuest asked librarians for their views on the information needs and challenges facing researchers. A new paper, 'The Librarian’s Point of View On the Need for Varied Content Types', by Library Journal and ProQuest on this study is now available, giving insights into how librarians perceive research databases and what they have learned from their users.
Library respondents are agreed that there are more channels than ever before for research content. They recognise that users struggle to access relevant sources and consider multi-disciplinary databases to provide the most reliable content. More information about the results and access to the research paper can be found on the ProQuest website.
