Neil Jacobs
Neil Jacobs, head of open science and research lifecycle at Jisc, has been appointed as interim programme manager for the international consortium of research funders, cOAlition S. Neil will take forward the work of the consortium, Plan S, to help accelerate the transition to full and immediate open access (OA). Neil has been actively supporting open access for more than 15 years, the majority of that time at Jisc. He will work three days a week in the cOAlition S role starting in early June and working through to the end of the calendar year.
Martin Spencker
As of 1 July 2019 Martin Spencker, who has been working for Thieme since 1993, will be the Executive Vice President International Business of the Thieme Group. He will be responsible for all the market offerings of Thieme outside the German-speaking countries. The various international Thieme locations will be run by country managers in future: Cathrin Weinstein will take over this task for Thieme USA; Louisa Turrell will do so for Thieme Brazil; Ajit Kohli will continue to perform this function for Thieme India; as will Dr. Daniel Schiff for Thieme China. These changes are associated with the forthcoming retirement of Brian D Scanlan, the current President of Thieme Publishers, New York.
Ben Sullivan
Ben Sullivan is joining the leadership team at bibliotheca as UK and Ireland Managing Director. Ben comes to bibliotheca with 22 years experience in the library and museum technology space, having served most recently as Vice President of the Axiell Archives Libraries Museum business. Ben worked previously at KE Software, and he has experience across all facets of a technical solutions business but is particularly motivated by strategic development, innovation, project delivery and customer support.
