Following its launch in September 2021, the development of the SafePod Network (SPN) is moving apace across the UK. The network provides the infrastructure, services and opportunities for researchers to analyse data that requires secure access. This includes datasets from the Office for National Statistics, SAIL Databank and the UK Data Service.

This two-part online event has been adapted from UKSG’s successful and long-running one-day seminar and aims to present a practical introductory overview of all aspects of e-resources management, encompassing e-journals, e-books and bibliographic and full-text databases. Taking place as two morning sessions on Thursday 23rd June and Tuesday 28th June.
In this session Scott Hayden will share how a team of students turned Learning Technologists and Facilitators helped develop an under-used LRC and adjoining spaces into a space that helps all Full Time learners engage in registered and timetabled Flipped and Blended Learning sessions every week throughout the year.
‘Ownership’ of content is no longer a simple matter of receiving and storing print copies on a shelf. Publishers and intermediaries license access to electronic resources, and so the licence has become a feature of most sales agreements. Information professionals consequently need to become familiar with the terms and conditions of licences, their meaning and their implications. This two-day online course will address these issues using a mixture of presentations, group sessions and some homework.

A chamber of the Munich Regional Court has ruled that the research networking site ResearchGate has to take down articles uploaded without consent from their original publishers. Damages claim dismissed.

Project Firstline is a centralized video broadcasting solution aimed at improving the state of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) education in the United States. The solution will allow for live broadcasts to be deployed across multiple websites and social channels simultaneously, with a streamlined back-end workflow, unified reporting, and high interactivity.
Jisc and Coherent Digital, a digital content and information services group, have signed an agreement to offer Mindscape Commons virtual reality (VR) content to both FE and HE institutions in the UK.
