SAGE Publishing has announced the launch of its 12th video collection and the release of 20 hours of content updates to existing collections. The new SAGE Video Social Work collection will feature original and licensed video showcasing social work skills, practices, populations, challenges, and research. The SAGE Video Business & Management and Media, Communication, & Cultural Studies collections will each receive ten hours of new content on new topics.
The SAGE Video Social Work collection, a resource for students studying to become social workers, contains more than 325 videos developed by authors, academics, and practitioners. It should help students will learn how to:
- engage, assess, intervene, and evaluate individuals, families, groups, and communities
- apply theory, direct-practice methods, and communicate across diverse populations
- conduct research and assessments
- create action-based programmes for change
The collection features tutorials, video case studies, interviews, documentaries, and videos that show social work in action across the globe. Seventy percent of the content is exclusive to SAGE Video, including video on the core areas of social work as defined by the Core Competencies published by the Council on Social Work Education and the Capabilities Framework published by The British Association of Social Workers.
SAGE Video collections are developed in partnership with academics, societies, and practitioners to deliver teaching and research-oriented video within the social sciences. Hosted on the SAGE Knowledge platform, the streaming videos are fully citable with searchable and downloadable transcripts, custom clip and playlist creation, and embedding capabilities.
