In collaboration with Olivier Hekster and the Radboud University Nijmegen, Brill has released 14 volumes in the book series Impact of Empire in open access. Together, these titles form the complete collection of proceedings from the annual workshops by the International Network Impact of Empire. The workshops draw contributions from various disciplines on topics that are still relevant today, such as migration, religion, cultural identity, and justice, focusing on the consequences of the actions and existence of the Roman Empire in the regions it dominated.
“It is great news to have these volumes out in open access“, said Professor of Ancient History and Series Editor, Olivier Hekster. “An important goal of the network is to foster cooperation between disciplines and between scholars working in various academic traditions. Brill’s open access books are discoverable through DOAB and distributed free of charge in Brill’s E-Book Collections, and through JSTOR.
