Conference Programme | Presentations
In 2002 the UKSG celebrates its 25th anniversary at the University of Warwick, an attractive parkland campus with a rural aspect just three miles from Coventry city centre. The UKSG Annual Conference and Exhibition is a major event offering the perfect opportunity for librarians, publishers, agents, information specialists and database providers to exchange news, views and information on the rapidly changing and developing global serials scene.
- Plenary sessions on topics such as usage statistics, SPARC, PELICAN, partnerships, the convergence of e-books and e-journals, and the future of publishing and scholarly journals.
- Eighteen workshops and briefing sessions for delegates to select from, including managing, promoting and remote access to e-journals, SFX, e-procurement, emerging standards, sourcing resources on the web, and mechanisms for communicating between publishers and librarians.
- A major trade exhibition and reviews of the latest products and services.
- Social events, including an informal gathering on Sunday evening for early arrivals, the widely acclaimed Monday night quiz and, on Tuesday, a reception and conference dinner at Stoneleigh Abbey near Kenilworth, an impressive 18th century house which has recently been the subject of a major restoration project.
