UKSG eNews is read by thousands of people within our member institutions every fortnight. We are delighted to announce that Joshua Sendall, University of Lancaster will be joining Helle Lauridsen as co-Editor.
Andrew Barker, Chair of UKSG said “I am delighted that Josh has accepted the role of co-Editor of eNews. He will bring his own perspective and network to the newsletter which is currently read by more than 2,000 individuals in our member institutions. Josh will be an asset, as he is here in Lancaster”.
Josh is Lancaster University Library’s Research and Scholarly Communications Manager. He leads their services for Open Access, Research Data Management and Research Intelligence. His team works collaboratively within and beyond the institution to enable an open research ecosystem that accommodates stakeholder interests and disciplinary differences.
Josh’s career in academic libraries began when he worked as a Learning Zone Student Advisor and Shelver during his LLM by Research degree at Lancaster University. He transitioned into an Information Assistant role before being seconded to the Graduate Programme for University Leadership, undertaking a project-based role within the Research Services Office. He later returned to the Library as Lancaster’s Research Data Manager before progressing to his current role.
Additionally, Josh is a member Lancaster University’s Digital Humanities Hub and he heads up the Library’s Digital Humanities Special Interest Group. He also works with the Staff Development Group to promote and enable ongoing personal and professional development across Library Services and Learning Development.
Josh is an advocate for equality, diversity and inclusion leading to productive, representative and resilient communities. He recently took up a position on SCONUL’s newly formed BAME Workforce Group who will steer the organisation’s work on equality and diversity.
Outside of work, Josh enjoys all things gastronomic and he can occasionally be found walking the fells of the Lake District and the Forest of Bowland (he’d like for this to be more than occasionally!)
