To streamline the process, we have created this dedicated speaker page where we will post the latest information and links leading up to the conference. We will update this page regularly, so please check it regularly for the most current details.

FAQ
Below is a list of common questions we receive from speakers, which may help with your preparation. If your query isn’t covered, feel free to contact us at events@uksg.org.
What will be the layout of my presentation room?
All breakrooms will be in theatre style with a projector or large lcd screen, each room will have a lectern with laptop and clicker available. Due to the limited time between sessions, we are unable change room layouts.
What day/time will my presentations take place?
Once we’ve heard back from all speakers, we’ll allocate breakout groups and confirm the days and times for your presentation. It can be tricky to make changes after that stage, so please do let us know your availability in Speaker Form 1. It’s also worth checking potential travel times now, so you have a rough idea of your arrival and departure plans.
Which room will my presentation be in?
We’ll be in touch by email closer to the conference to confirm your presentation room. This will be based on the requirements for your session and others in your breakout group.
Will there be someone to help me with my AV requirements?
Yes, In rooms what are being recorded there will be a technician available at all times. For rooms that are not being recorded there will be a floating technician available at all times to assist with any questions or difficulties.
Will my presentation be recorded and where can i view them?
Yes, all breakout session are scheduled to run twice during the conference – one of these sessions will be recorded.The recordings for the conference will be hosted via our partner Underline – you can view previous conference recording here.
What equipment should i expect to have in the room?
As standard, a projector or large lcd screen will be in place each room will also have a lectern with laptop and clicker available. The laptop will be networked. If you want to use anything other than slides (eg PowerPoint/Google slides etc), please do state this on the speaker form which we will send to you a couple of months before the event. Do note we strongly encourage you to use the laptop present in the room, where a technical will load your slides to the laptop for your use.
Can i share my slides with delegates?
On your speaker form we ask if you will be willing to share the slides you present with the community via the UKSG slide share account. Can i opt out of having my session recorded/shared?
While we strongly encourage all speakers to allow us to share the recording from the conference, we will be in touch to confirm this with a speaker agreement form. If you have any specific questions, please contact events@uksg.org
When do you need my presentation?
We collect presentation from all speakers when they arrive at the conference. A speaker preview room will host technicians from the inhouse AV company, who will collect your presentation from you, check it over and answer any questions or issues you may have as well as advise on the equipment that is available in your presentations rooms. There will also be space in the room to review your presentation. More details of this will be sent to you before the conference.
Can you tell me more about how I/delegates use the app?
A couple of weeks ahead of the conference you will receive an email which will have further information and link. Your profile will be pre-populated with the speaker information you have provided, if you find any errors please contact events@uksg.org.Further details on how get the most out of the app will also be sent prior to the conference.

Can i update/add more information to my details on the app?
Yes, we encourage you to personalise your profile, ahead of the conference you will receive an email which will have further information and link.
What else can i do to interact with the audience via the app?
1. You can add up to 3 topics you would like your audience to discuss either pre or post your session. More details will be available in the help video on YouTube which will be available shortly.
2. You can up to 3 URL links to your session – this could be a website, publications or useful articles.

4. Use the community section of the app to:

- Take part and introduce yourself in ‘break the ice!’

Will there be Wi-Fi available in the presentation room?
Yes, Wi-Fi will be available in all the presentation rooms. If you presentation is reliant on using a connection please contact us in advance to discuss further.
Can i bring my own laptop for the presentation?
While we strongly encourage you to use the provide laptop to ensure ease and compatibility with our AV set up, if you feel that this would not meet your needs please contact us to discuss further ahead of arriving in Glasgow.
How long should my presentation be?
Breakout sessions should run for 45–50 minutes, including time for Q&A. If you run out of time for questions, you can continue the conversation using the app’s chat function, where delegates can post questions. Please keep an eye on your timing are finish promptly—delegates need around 10 minutes to get to their next session. We’ve had feedback in the past about sessions overrunning, which can make it difficult for people to arrive on time and can disrupt the next speaker.
Will there be a rehearsal or sound check before my presentation?
There will not be a formal rehearsal prior to your breakout session however please do speak to the technician in the room or when you attend the speaker preview. They will be happy to advise or test anything with you.
How early should I arrive at the room before my presentation?
This depends on when you session is scheduled to start as some breakouts run back to back. As a general rule please arrive approximately 10 minutes prior to your session, however please feel free to arrive earlier particularly if i your session is first thing in a morning or after any breaks or lunch.
Can I distribute handouts or material to the audience?
Yes, you can distribute handouts or materials, please do consider paper wastage and consider sharing a QR code link or uploading it to the conference app.
Will there be a Q&A session after my presentation?
Yes, each breakout slot includes 10 minutes for Q&A. If things run over, you’re welcome to use the app’s chat feature for follow-up questions, or arrange a meeting point in the exhibition area.
