Thank you for agreeing to be a workshop leader at the UKSG Annual Conference and Exhibition in Brighton, from Monday, 31st March to Wednesday, 2nd April 2025.
To streamline the process, we have created a dedicated speaker page where we will post the latest information and links leading up to the conference. We will update this page weekly, so please check it regularly for the most current details.

Here is list of common questions we receive from speakers.

| What will be the layout of my presentation room? | The plan is for workshop rooms to be hosting in cabaret style with round tables a projector or large lcd screen, each room will have a top table with laptop and clicker available. We can discuss with you if you think you might want to change the layout – we are limited by the venue on any changes. |
| What day/time will my presentations take place | Once we we have feedback from all the speakers we will allocate you a day and time you can expect your workshop to take place. |
| Which room will my presentation be in? | We will be in contact with you by email nearer the time of the conference to confirm your presentation room. This will be based on your requirements |
| Will there be someone to help me with my AV requirements | Yes, It is likely the technican will not be based in your room but will be a floating technician available at all times to assist with any questions or difficulties. |
| Will my presentation be recorded and where can i view them? | We currently don’t have plans to record the workshop as the session doesn’t lend itself to this format. However over types of session will be recorded.The recordings for the conference will be hosted via our partner Underline – you can view previous conference recording here. |
| What equipment should i expect to have in the room | As standard, a projector or large lcd screen will be in place each room will also have a table with laptop and clicker available. The laptop will be networked. If you want to use anything other than slides (eg PowerPoint/Google slides etc), please do state this on the speaker form which we will send to you a couple of months before the event.Do note we strongly encourage you to use the laptop present in the room, where a technical will load your slides to the laptop for your use.If you want any other materials eg post its/flip charts etc we will collect and discuss this with you to make what we can possible. | Can i share my slides with delegates? | On your speaker form we ask if you will be willing to share the slides you present with the community via the UKSG slide share account. | When do you need my presentation? | We collect presentation from all speakers when they arrive at the conference. A speaker preview room will host technicians from the AV company, who will collect your presentation from you, check it over and answer any questions or issues you may have. There will also be space in the room to review your presentation if needed. More details of this will be sent to you before the conference. |
| Can you tell me more about how I/delegates use the app | A helpful YouTube video (available shortly) will talk you through the feature and functions on how to get the most out of the app both prior to, during and after the event. |
| Can you tell me how I get access to the app? | A couple of weeks ahead of the conference you will receive an email which will have further information and link. Your profile will be pre-populated with the speaker information you have provide, if you find any errors please contact events@uksg.orgFurther details on how get the most out of the app will also be sent prior to the conference |
| Can i update/add more information to my details on the app? | Yes, ahead of the conference you will receive an email which will have further information and link. |
| What else can i do to interact with the audience via the app? | 1. You can add up to 3 topics you would like your audience to discuss either pre or post your session. More details will be available in the help video on YouTube which will be available shortly.2. You can up to 3 URL links to your session – this could be a website, publications or useful articles.3. | Will there be Wi-Fi available in the presentation room? | Yes, Wi-Fi will be available in all the presentation rooms. If you presentation is reliant on using a connection please contact us in advance to discuss further. |
| Can i bring my own laptop for the presentation? | While we strongly encourage you to use the provide laptop to ensure ease and compatibility with our AV set up, if you feel that this would not meet your needs please contact us to discuss further. |
| How long should my presentation be? | Generally we schedule workshops to be around 1 hour and 50 minutes, but we can confirm timings with you directly. |
| Will there be a rehearsal or sound check before my presentation? | There will not be a formal rehearsal prior to your session however please do speak to the technician allocated to your room or when you attend the speaker preview. They will be happy to advise or test anything with you. |
| How early should I arrive at the room before my presentation? | At the current time the room earmarked for workshops will only be used for those session so it is likely you can set up/view your room in advance. Do note though that it is not a lockable room |
| Can I distribute handouts or material to the audience? | Yes, you can distribute handouts or materials, please do consider paper wastage and consider sharing a QR code link or uploading it to the conference app. |
| Will delegates have to sign up to attend workshops? | Attendance at the workshops will be on a first come first served basis. We will discuss with you the approximate numbers your session is aimed at, but it will be up to you to manage numbers as appropriate on the day. |
