The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has released a comprehensive plan to promote gold standard science across all agency operations. The plan aligns with the U.S. Government’s nine interlocking tenets of gold standard science and the Department of Health and Human Services’ implementation framework.
The strategy reinforces NIH’s commitment to scientific integrity and aims to ensure that research findings are objective, credible, and accessible to the public. It is structured to reflect NIH’s existing policies while offering a forward-looking approach to maintaining rigorous research standards.
NIH, a component of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the federal government’s primary medical research agency. It comprises 27 Institutes and Centers and supports a wide spectrum of basic, clinical, and translational medical research.
