Bloomsbury release BFI TV Studies

Bloomsbury have announced the launch of BFI TV Studies, with over 40 titles now live on Screen Studies. 

The collection encompasses a wide range of topics in television history, culture and form. From celebrations of key individual series to in-depth overviews of global television industries, it features coverage of television from around the world and includes exclusive foundational books by leading scholars in the field.

Highlights of the collection include:

  • Reality Television and Class: Tackles common assumptions in television analysis to show how the mere fact of ‘being on tv’ is not a straightforward route to recognition, democracy, mobility or value
  • Tele-Visions: An Introduction to Studying Television: A comprehensive introduction to the subject of television studies written by many of the leading international figures in the field
  • Bleak House: This BFI TV Classic by Christine Geraghty analyzes the critically acclaimed production in terms of its adaptation status, narrative organization, acting, setting and mise-en-scene
  • The Chinese Television Industry: This ground-breaking study explores how television content is changing, how the Chinese government is responding, and how businesses are brokering alliances in traditional and new media sectors
