EARLL supported by UKSG, invite you to a free virtual careers event:
Pathways in Academic Library Careers
Join us on 1st December for a panel discussion where we will explore practical and systemic barriers in the sector, the value of library postgraduate study, diversity in the sector and more. Panellists will share their experiences securing jobs and provide advice to others looking for their first or next step in the profession. The panel will be discussing how to make the most of opportunities and build on skills necessary to work in the sector as job roles become more varied and the routes into the profession become increasingly diverse.
The panel will have representatives from User/Reader Services, Research Support/Scholarly Communications, Subject Librarians and Collections professionals in UK academic libraries. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask the panel questions ahead of the event or during the event.
Speakers:
Sonia Gomes, Librarian (London School of Economics)
Tom Cridford, Scholarly Communications Librarian (Royal College of Art)
Peter Lund, Librarian (Scott Polar Research Institute, University of Cambridge)
Susana Sanchez-Gonzalez, Special Collections Reader Services Coordinator (John Rylands Research Institute and Library, University of Manchester)
Host: Hannah Boroudjou, Research Data Librarian (London School of Economics) and EARLL Co-Chair
