The Geological Society of London partners with OaMetrix to manage Open Access deals and APC payments.

OaMetrix is a cloud application that simplifies Open Access deals and APC payment workflows for publishers, authors and institutions. OaMetrix is integrated with GSL’s peer review system to fetch article metadata through API.

The OaMetrix matching engine automatically notifies authors if an OA deal is in place between their institution and The Geological Society of London. OaMetrix automatically applies discounts, waivers and tokens when institutions and authors generate a self-service invoice, if configured in the system.

David Boyt, Head of Editorial Development at the Geological Society Publishing House, said, “The Geological Society is pleased to be collaborating with OaMetrix to bring to customers and collaborators an enhanced service for the administration of Open Access fees (APC’s) and publishing agreements. A new system infrastructure, offering added functionality for payment-processing, record-keeping, and other key administrative activity, will be integrated with the Society’s personal service, to provide support and guidance to users. The partnership is part of the Society’s broader commitment to supporting Open Access activity across the geosciences community.”

Biplob Kamrujjaman, CEO of OaMetrix said “We are excited to partner with the Geological Society of London to help them automate their Open Access deals, APC payments and get a better overview of their OA activities with our editorial and Open Access reporting dashboard.”
