The CLOCKSS Archive has announced that eleven journals have been triggered for open access by the CLOCKSS Board of Directors.
The triggers occurred after Medknow, part of Wolters Kluwer, ceased publishing eleven titles in 2019 and the content would no longer be available online. The publications have been preserved in the CLOCKSS Archive and are openly available to the public via a Creative Commons license.
The triggered journals are:
- Annals of Bioanthropology: volumes 2 - 5
- European Journal of Prosthodontics: volumes 1 - 4
- Indian Journal of Human Genetics: volumes 17 - 20
- International Journal of Shoulder Surgery: volumes 5- 10
- Journal of HIV and Human Reproduction: volumes 1 - 3
- Journal of Human Health: volume 1
- Journal of Medical Investigations and Practice: volumes 9 - 10
- Journal of Orthodontic Research: volumes 1 - 4
- Journal of Surgical Technique and Case Report: volumes 3 - 7
- Nigerian Journal of Surgical Research: volumes 15 - 17
- Sudan Medical Monitor: volumes 8 - 12
Triggering the following content for access is in process. In the future triggers will be announced for:
- Indian Journal of Human Genetics: volumes 1 - 16
- International Journal of Shoulder Surgery: volumes 1- 4
- Journal of HIV and Human Reproduction: volume 4
- Journal of Surgical Technique and Case Report: volumes 1 – 2
CLOCKSS provides a sustainable dark archive to ensure the long-term survival of web-based scholarly content. Digital content is stored in the CLOCKSS archive with no user access unless a ‘trigger’ event occurs. The LOCKSS technology regularly checks the validity of the stored data and preserves it for the long term.
