IGI Global launches a flat-fee OA publishing agreement

14 January 2026

IGI Global Scientific Publishing has announced the launch of its Flat-Fee Open Access Publishing Agreement, offering a sustainable open access option for libraries and their institutions’ aspiring researchers with unlimited open access publishing.

The Flat-Fee Open Access Publishing Agreement enables institutions to offer their faculty and researchers the ability to publish open access at no cost to them. Through a single, predictable annual fee paid by the library, affiliated authors may publish unlimited open access articles in nearly 200 highly indexed journals across Business & Management, Science, Technology, & Medicine (STM), and Education & Social Sciences, without paying individual Article Processing Charges (APCs).

With a Flat-Fee Open Access Publishing Agreement, libraries remove financial barriers to open access publishing, enabling their faculty and researchers to publish freely, expand global visibility, and advance institutional open access goals. Participating libraries receive the following benefits:

  • Unlimited Open Access Publishing
  • Library Recognition as the Primary Funder
  • Transparent Pricing with Flexible Read & Publish Options
  • Complimentary Publishing and Author Education Workshops

“In direct response to librarian feedback, the Flat-Fee Open Access Publishing Agreement reflects our commitment to accessible open access publishing,” said Nick Newcomer, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing at IGI Global Scientific Publishing. “By adopting this agreement, libraries ensure their faculty and researchers can publish open access without fees, supporting equity and accessibility in scholarly communication.”

Read & Publish licensing options are also available, alongside IGI Global Scientific Publishing’s e-Book Collection, which includes 10,000+ peer-reviewed e-Books covering Business & Management, STM, and Education & Social Sciences. Bundling e-Book Collection licensing with a Flat-Fee Open Access Publishing Agreement offers libraries preferential, flexible pricing options.
