Express Your Interest: Shape the Future of EDI at UKSG! Deadline Friday 21st March 2025
UKSG is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our newly formed Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Working Group. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to meaningful change within the information community and help us build a more inclusive future.
We’re looking for 6-8 members, with a balanced representation from library and publishing/vendor backgrounds (approximately half from each). We encourage applications from individuals representing diverse minority groups, and allies are absolutely welcome too.
What’s in it for you?
- Make a difference: Directly contribute to the development and implementation of UKSG’s EDI strategy.
- Develop your skills: Gain valuable experience in strategic planning, project management, and collaborative working.
- Build your network: Connect with professionals from across the information sector.
- Boost your confidence: Enhance your leadership and communication skills.
- Shape the future: Play a key role in driving EDI initiatives within UKSG and the wider community.
What will you do?
As a member of the EDI Working Group, you will:
- Ensure the delivery of the UKSG EDI action plan.
- Provide advice and feedback to other UKSG committees.
- Hold the UKSG Board of Trustees to account and make recommendations.
- Engage the broader UKSG network with EDI issues and actions.
This is a strategic group that reports directly to the UKSG Board, giving you a real voice in shaping our organisation’s direction.
Commitment:
Membership is for one year, with the option to roll over. We expect to meet 4 times per year via Teams with some discussion in between by email.
Interested?
We are committed to ensuring all our UKSG groups and committees are representative of our wider community. If you are interested in this opportunity or would like to register your interest for future EDI opportunities, please complete the expression of interest form by midnight on Friday 21st March 2025.
We look forward to hearing from you! If you have any questions or would like to chat more about the role, please contact Jennifer Bayjoo on j.bayjoo@mmu.ac.uk
