Free UKSG webinar – Exploring how emerging open science services can enhance institutional publication data

David is the Open Access Officer at Brunel University London based within the Scholarly Communication & Rights Management team. He is an advocate of OA publishing, and of building services that realise the movement within local institutional communities. David has spoken at UKSG, NASIG, RLUK and Altmetric conferences about this topic in recent years. David is an ambassador for the CORE service.

Christopher Daley has worked in a variety of research, teaching and support roles in higher education. Christopher currently works at Brunel University London as Research Development Officer within the Research Support and Development Office, where he supports academics in the construction of grant applications. He has a long-standing research interest in open access publishing, open scholarship and digital humanities and is a member of the Young European Research Universities (YERUN) working group on open science. 

Learning outcomes

• Wider understanding of current OA policies in the UK.
• An overview of some major services that aggregate global OA data and the methodologies used for data capture.
• An understanding of institutional systems used for open access compliance and related issues around interoperability with external systems.

Subject level and previous knowledge required

• Introductory and non-intensive, however some general knowledge or experience may be required.
