HARRASSOWITZ has announced a “significant enhancement” to its License Services: the addition of a dedicated service for parsing and managing individual institutional licenses. Building on HARRASSOWITZ’s longstanding expertise in license management, this new service further streamlines license workflows and helps libraries manage their agreements more efficiently and effectively.
For many years, HARRASSOWITZ has supported libraries with a comprehensive suite of license management solutions, such as parsed publisher standard licenses and integration of terms within the Fokus platform. The latest enhancement introduces the ability to parse and structure not only publisher generic licenses but also individual customer licenses – covering both current and legacy agreements for serials, e-books, and monographs.
This service element enables libraries to:
- Submit their own institutional licenses for detailed parsing and structuring
- Receive a consolidated, ready-to-upload report for seamless integration into library management systems such as FOLIO
- Access a dedicated License Repository within Fokus, providing a central overview of all parsed licenses specific to their institution
- Benefit from structured display and searchability of license terms
The new component was piloted in close collaboration with Caltech University, ensuring that the solution meets the practical needs of research libraries.
