Conference Dates and Venue

The 2008 Annual Conference and Exhibition will take place from 7-9 April 2008 at the Riviera International Conference Centre, a superb purpose-built conference and exhibition facility situated in Torquay overlooking Torbay - without doubt one of the loveliest natural settings in Europe.

This delightful coastal location, a marked departure from UKSG's previous university campus venues, has been chosen as a result of the need for this ever-growing event to expand into larger premises.  Despite this change, it is intended that the format and spirit of the conference will very much remain as they have been in the past: an atmosphere of collaboration, a sense of fun, and a packed social agenda to ensure all delegates are welcomed into the UKSG community.

The entire range of modern facilities is housed under one roof, which means that delegates attending events can move easily between the adjacent conference and exhibition halls.

Torquay - Getting There ...

Accommodation

As a result of the change in venue type for 2008 from university campus to purpose-built conference centre, accommodation is no longer included in the delegate fee and must be booked separately (the delegate fee will be reduced accordingly). The UKSG has worked with the Riviera Centre to set up a designated booking service which offers specially-negotiated rates at a number of local hotels and guest houses which are within walking distance of the conference venue.

Special rates have been negotiated with various hotels across a wide range of prices. The ConferenceTorquay accommodation service can no longer arrange bookings online as the date of the conference is now imminent.

However if you still need to book accommodation you can telephone the accommodation booking service for assistance on +44 (0)1803 206306

Single Occupancy Please be aware that in most cases a single room supplement will be charged for sole occupancy of a double room.
DBB / BB  Please also be aware that these codes mean ‘Dinner, Bed and Breakfast’ or ‘Bed and Breakfast’.  These options may be offered when booking your accommodation, but do note that dinner is included within the delegate fee package which covers Monday and Tuesday evenings.  (Dinners will still need to be booked as additional options by those attending as day delegates only.)
