As an Academic Liaison Librarian for business, I have some expertise in literature searching and secondary data collection, and in teaching others about these, but I’m aware that there are many other research areas that I don’t have as much knowledge of as I’d like… I also know that there are areas where I, and other staff working in academic and research libraries, could use our experience and expertise to play more of a part in academic research, including funded research as co-investigators on projects led by other people, and even leading our own projects.

International agreement creates common vision aiming to maximise the quality and impact of research.
The committee is seeking feedback on its inaugural strategic plan, which covers the period from January 2023 to May 2025. Anyone with an interest in research integrity is invited to provide feedback, which will inform the committee’s next steps.
The National Action Plan outlines objectives and actions for the next chapter in Ireland’s transition towards open research. The plan was prepared by NORF and supports national strategic priorities for research and innovation under Impact 2030: Ireland’s Research and Innovation Strategy.
The launch of Health Open Research expands its remit to all researchers working in health, medicine, and social care and to other health research organisations, nationally and internationally.
New agreement will provide richer data on impact of research on driving innovation and action.
ResearchGate and the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) have announced a content syndication partnership that will see approximately 22,000 articles from 7 of ASM’s fully open access journals added to ResearchGate.
Following a successful free trial earlier this year in association with ANKOS (the Anatolian University Libraries consortium) which involved over 200 institutions this partnership aims to to expand the Read & Publish programme in Turkey.
By integrating sharing and tracking of code and data, this multi-year agreement will also make code peer review easier for editors and reviewers, and improve the author experience.
