Three different voices from the UKSG community tell why they decided on the major career change it is to move from the public to the private sector or vice versa. The differences – or lack hereof is discussed by all three, and is a testament to UKSG’s vision of being a meeting point for the entire scholarly communications community. The EARLL Development Community (EDC) is a new network designed to bring early career librarians and established professionals into closer collaboration. The aim is to recruit a number of professionals, with a wide variety of expertise across different areas of library services to become EARLL Champions who can support and mentor EARLL members.
Octopus aims to enable fast, free and fair publishing of research that is open to all and focuses on the intrinsic quality of research. It sets out to avoid researchers being tempted to ‘sell good stories’ in their work, and instead rewards them for rigour and specialism.
"Wiley delivered another solid year in Fiscal 2022 as we materially accelerated organic growth, delivered on our financial targets, and surpassed $2 billion in revenue for the first time," said Brian Napack, President and CEO. "Our consistent strategy to lead in open scientific research and career-connected education, our strong cash flow, and our dedication to operational excellence position us well for the future."
The agreement will be piloted over 12 months and involves the syndication of 15 Karger Publishers journals to ResearchGate, including eight open access (OA) journals and seven hybrid journals.
Under this agreement, beginning in January 2023, Wolters Kluwer will publish ASN’s portfolio of three medical specialty journals, Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, and Kidney360 starting in January 2023.
Authors based in China submitting articles to over a thousand Taylor & Francis journals will now be able to access regular status updates on their submission, in Chinese via WeChat.
With more than AUD $1M in support from the Mellon Foundation, Educopia have announced a collaboration with partners at Curtin University and OAPEN on the Book Analytics Dashboard Project (2022-2025) to support the creation of a community-governed OA book analytics service for publishers.
