Our UKSG November conference is shaping up and we’d like to hear from you as we form the programme. Our theme is diversity, equity, and inclusion through multiple lenses in scholarly communications.
We are interested in hearing about your projects and thoughts in this area. It could be looking at equity in access to publishing or library resources, promoting diverse practices in your workplace and or exploring what diversity, equity and inclusion means to your part of our sector. Some themes to consider include, but are not limited to:
- Promoting diversity, equality and inclusion in your workplace
- Innovative business models for access to publishing and reading open educational resources
- Decolonisation or diversification of collections or practices
- Enabling global access to scholarly material
- Rights retention and opening access through licencing
It’s important that all UKSG events reflect a variety of perspectives and backgrounds - and we particularly want to encourage and include those from under-represented communities to speak and take part, including early career professionals from all areas of our sector. If you have an interest in this topic and would like to share your views and experiences, but aren’t sure about speaking at a conference, we can provide mentors to help you prepare and can work with you to frame your ideas.
We don’t need an abstract, just a brief outline of what you are working on and the intended outcomes. Please email details to info@uksg.org with UKSG November Conference in the subject line. Deadline 5 July 2022
