ALPSP is holding a webinar on microPublications, 'Making the case for embracing microPublications: are they a way forward for scholarly publishing?', on Wednesday 26 June 2019, 16:00-17:00 BST.
A primary motivation for microPublications is to facilitate the publishing of both positive and negative research experiments / findings. There is a long recognised, but not successfully addressed, loss of knowledge due to lack of regular publication of negative research findings which are just as important as positive results.
The webinar will be chaired by Heather Staines (Head of Partnerships, MIT Knowledge Futures Group), and the speakers will be Daniela Raciti (Scientific Curator for Wormbase and Managing Editor, microPublication Biology), Karen Yook (Scientific Curator for Wormbase and Managing Editor, microPublication Biology), and Tracey DePellegrin (Executive Director, Genetics Society of America and Executive Editor of the GSA Journals GENETICS and G3: Genes|Genomes|Genetics).
You may ask:
- What’s so different about a microPublication?
- Why launch a microPublication?
- Who benefits from microPublications?
- Are microPublications changing the way researchers communicate their findings?
