UKSG ( is a key professional interest group for the scholarly communications community, with around 400 members including academic libraries, publishers and related organisations. A registered charity with a mission to facilitate networking and the exchange of ideas, UKSG holds a major international conference and a range of one-day events and webinars, publishes a peer-reviewed open access journal, and runs research and development projects.

UKSG’s trustees are seeking to appoint an outstanding and experienced Executive Director to lead our operations into the next stage of our evolution.

Under the governance and guidance of the Board of Trustees, the post-holder takes responsibility for the organisation’s Charitable, Commercial, Financial, Human Resources, Administrative, Marketing and IT strategies, delegating operational management of these functions as appropriate to UKSG staff, in order to fulfil the mission and objectives of the organisation.

A good understanding of the scholarly communications sector is vital, as is the ability to work alongside and motivate people with a variety of professional backgrounds.

UKSG administration activities are based in Witney, Oxfordshire, while committee meetings and events take place across the UK and Ireland.
