DESCRIPTION:Course summary This one-day seminar is aimed at librarians who want to gain an understanding of the various activities involved in financial planning for resources within an academic library.UKSG is able to call on the extensive experience of its members in sourcing expert speakers from various institutions within the academic sector to present a practical overview of all aspects of the financial management of information resources.Why you should attend  Various financial management practices of a number of academic institutions will be discussed\, including the relationship with the institutions finance department.  Central to the whole event are presentations giving the differing viewpoints of what is involved – from accounting basics\, tendering and procurement regulations\, local and national reporting\, forecasting\, and KPIs.  Two case studies are included and time will be set aside for follow-on questions.
