Call for Expressions of Interest - Serials eNews technology provider

UKSG is seeking a technology partner for the web hosting and email distribution of Serials-eNews, its fortnightly e-newsletter. Key requirements are outlined below. UKSG would like to invite potential technology partners to submit an expression of interest by (end of Jan?). Following the outcome of this call, UKSG will invite selected providers to submit a full tender. Expressions of interest should take the form of an outline statement, on not more than a single sheet of A4, indicating the provider’s ability to meet the requirements detailed below.

§    flexible, industry-standard, customisable design and architecture

§    support for alternative interfaces for co-branded partner editions

§    no requirement for visible provider branding

§    WYSIWYG CMS

§    automated sign up for email version

§    statistics: logging and reporting of click-through rates to online content

§    analytics: tracking of user activity within the content, visitor profiles, traffic sources etc

§    access control: limiting access to current and archive content to members by IP, referrer URL and username / password

§    archive discoverability: support for search engine indexing and navigation including search and browse

§    advertising: supporting digital advertising around the content, with standard e-ad functionality and reporting, and interface to booking, billing and accounting systems

§    events: supporting events listings

§    mobile version

§    accessibility compliance

 Email distribution

§    flexible, industry-standard, customisable HTML style sheets including alternatives for co-branded partner editions (and without requirement to include provider’s branding)

§    support for multi-column format, images and links

§    automated plain text alternative

§    test mode

§    WYSIWYG editing

§    multiple list import and management (1200 contacts, expected to increase)

§    sample issue support

§    inbuilt anti-spam check to minimise risk of blacklisting / junk filtering

§    send scheduling

§    automated sign up and unsubscribe (with auto-response and bounce manager)

§    open, click and bounce reporting

§    mobile friendliness

§    accessibility compliance

§    CSS fixer

§    Integration with membership database for email addresses/permitted domains (and removing expires)
