LiveSerials
A blog operated by the Marketing Committee of the United Kingdom Serials Group (UKSG) which provides realtime coverage of news from the information industry. The blog's inaugural purpose is to provide coverage of the UKSG 2006 Annual Conference (Warwick University, UK; 3-5 April 2006).
The venue for the UKSG 2006 Annual Conference and Exhibition is the University of Warwick, an attractive parkland campus with a rural aspect just three miles from Coventry city centre. This major event offers the perfect opportunity for librarians, publishers, agents, information specialists and database providers from across the world to exchange news, views and information on the rapidly changing and developing international serials scene.
- Plenary sessions on topics such as economic evolution in the scientific publication market, innovations in scholarly communication, the transition to e-only format, and digital archiving.
- Thirty workshops and briefing sessions for delegates to select from, including branding for libraries, setting up an institutional repository, non-standard licensing models, best practice for claiming, institutional identifiers, electronic resource management, and journal article versions.
- A major trade exhibition and reviews of the latest products and services.
- Social events, including an informal gathering on campus on Sunday evening for early arrivals, a reception and conference dinner at the National Motorcycle Museum on Monday, and on Tuesday the hugely popular quiz.
Information on exhibiting will be sent out to interested parties in January 2006.
