Summary
Mergers are a very hot topic at present. Universities, libraries and publishers are merging at an unprecedented rate, and the global information community is changing rapidly to create larger and more complex institutions.
This seminar focuses on the advantages and problems in large-scale operations and explains some of the processes involved in a large-scale merger (and the rationale behind them) from both the publisher and the library perspectives.
The challenges will be discussed by librarians and publishers who have been involved with mergers, and both practical details, as well as personal experiences, will be discussed.
